A sick instructor at 6am should not mean a cancelled Reformer class. Post your Pilates cover once and FitMatchr alerts qualified, available instructors nearby.
It is 5:40am. Your first Reformer class starts in 20 minutes and the instructor has just messaged to say they are sick. You now have a full room of clients on their way, a group chat that nobody is reading, and a list of numbers to call before you can even unlock the door.
That is the reality of Pilates cover for most studios. Instructors are specialised, so you cannot just send in anyone. The people who could help are scattered across social media groups and old text threads. You do not know who is free, who holds the right qualification, or whether their first aid is still current, and you are checking all of it by hand with the clock running.
FitMatchr is built for exactly this moment. Post the cover once, and it reaches the Pilates instructors who are qualified, available and nearby, all at the same time.
Add the class type, time and rate. Award-rate guidance is shown as you post, so you can set a fair figure.
The post goes straight to qualified, available, nearby instructors as a push notification.
Applicants are ranked by reliability, so you can see who has turned up for classes before.
Pick your instructor and confirm. Their documents and payment details are handed over in the app once they are booked.
Documents and payment details are only visible to studios that are ABN-verified, and only after a booking. Because the studio pays the instructor directly, there is no middleman holding anyone's money. Looking to find a Pilates instructor for an ongoing role instead? See Pilates recruitment.
Every instructor lists their specialities and uploads their Pilates qualification and first aid/CPR certificate. FitMatchr tracks expiry dates automatically, so an out-of-date certificate does not slip through unnoticed. Once everything is in, the instructor is marked Ready to hire.
The check runs both ways. Studios must be ABN-verified before they can see an instructor's documents or payment details, and those details are only handed over in the app when a cover is booked. Instructors know who is asking for their information, and studios know exactly what they are getting.
On the day, instructors confirm their arrival with a geofenced check-in: within 50 m of the studio, at least 10 minutes before class starts. If someone has not checked in, you know early and can act, instead of finding out when the room is already full.
Check-ins build each instructor's reliability score, which is how applicants are ranked on your next cover post. Reviews are double-blind, so neither the studio nor the instructor sees the other's review until both have been submitted.
Running several sites that offer Pilates alongside Yoga, personal training, group fitness and cycle? Manage every location from one FitMatchr account. See FitMatchr for multi-site gyms for the full picture. Billing is per location, with 15% off from the third location onwards, and front desks get site-scoped logins so each team only sees its own location.
Cover works for every discipline you run, not just Pilates: see Yoga, Personal Training and Group & Cycle, so one app handles all your last-minute gaps.
Unlimited cover shifts. A permanent hire is a one-off A$250.
Unlimited covers, with permanent hires included.
Your first 3 months of covers are free. A card is required but not charged during the trial. 15% off from the third location onwards. Prices exclude GST. Instructors never pay.
It depends on the shift, the time of day, your rate and how many qualified instructors are available nearby, so we can't promise a time. What FitMatchr does is push your cover post instantly to qualified, available, nearby instructors, so you aren't messaging people one by one. Posting early and setting a fair rate gives you the best chance.
No. FitMatchr is free for instructors, always. There is no subscription and no fee to apply for cover shifts or permanent roles.
The studio pays the instructor directly. FitMatchr never pays instructors. Once a cover is booked, the studio is handed the instructor's payment details in the app, so you can pay them the way you normally would.
Instructors list their specialities and upload their Pilates qualification plus first aid and CPR. Expiry dates are tracked automatically. Once their documents are complete they show as Ready to hire. Studios must be ABN-verified before they can see documents or payment details.
Yes. You set the rate on every cover post and can raise it when a class is starting soon. Award-rate guidance based on the Fitness Industry Award is shown when you post. It is guidance only, not advice, so check your own obligations.
Yes. Instructors list their specialities, including Reformer, Mat and Clinical Pilates, and your post goes to qualified, available instructors nearby. FitMatchr also covers Yoga, personal training, group fitness and cycle if you run more than one kind of class.
FitMatchr uses a geofenced arrival check-in: instructors check in within 50 m of the studio, at least 10 minutes before class, so a no-show is objective rather than a he-said-she-said. Check-ins feed each instructor's reliability score, and reviews are double-blind so both sides can be honest.
